Do I have to be a member to submit an abstract?

A person who is not a member of an ICN member organization may only submit an abstract as a joint author/presenter with a person who is a member of an ICN member organization. Please check the ICN member list here: https://www.icn.ch/membership/our-members

Can I submit an already published research?

It is acceptable to present published work in the Congress, but we highly recommend the abstract should include certain new material and updates on the research project.

What is the word count of the submission?

The abstract text must not exceed 2500 characters including spaces. The count does not include the title and authors’ information.

Submission guidelines:

We welcome abstract submissions for oral presentations and ePosters presentations. Abstracts should be structured and include the following sections:

Title: Ensure it is concise and descriptive of the study or project.
Authors: Provide full names and affiliations of all authors.
Content: Include background, methods, results, conclusions

Submission process:

Abstracts must be submitted electronically through the Submission Page which will be available on 2 August 2024. Please ensure that abstracts adhere to the specified formatting guidelines and languages. Submissions will undergo expert review, and acceptance notifications will be sent by the end of November 2024.

In 1925, nurses from around the world gathered in Finland for the 5th Congress of the International Council of Nurses (ICN). One hundred years later, ICN and the Finnish Nurses Association are delighted to invite you back to Helsinki to attend the 30th ICN Congress, 9-13 June 2025!

In the Land of the Midnight Sun, the ICN Congress theme “Nursing power to change the world”, will illuminate the extraordinary influence wielded by nurses, pivotal in shaping the ever-evolving landscape of health care delivery. Emphasizing nurses’ profound capacity to positively impact lives across a spectrum of health care settings, our Congress underscores nurses’ invaluable role in enhancing equity and accessibility to health care services, and shaping health policies at every level of governance. At the heart of this discourse lies our collective commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage and driving forward the global health policy agenda.
